The silence I hear is amazing. One of the most subtle, but one of the biggest cultural differences. While I so often feel the need to ensure that someone is filling the air with words, so many here feel the contrary. The closest of friends embrace and sit in silence.

As such, I've considered other forms of communication outside words. Sin palabras. It's a theme. Eyes, bodies, hands. Awareness of presence. Thinking in the presence of others.

These forms of communication go beyond intellectual curiosity, which, until now, has been my primary tool for knowing and understanding people. But what is beyond this?
