A figure drawing session is 3 hours, which is a lot of drawing. I felt good about these 4 drawings and terrible about the others. These were early on, so maybe I got tired.

Drawing is a lot like playing basketball. Sometimes I'm on and I hit every shot. Sometimes I'm off and I miss everything, trip all over my feet, and start saying mean things to nice people.

The struggle is, I don't know what makes me on or off. I can't tell the difference between a successful approach and a unsuccessful approach. I imagine this is where the concept of mastering something shows up. If you've mastered it, you know the difference and you can control approach. I wonder when the mastering happens.
