No drawing today. Decided to watch Mad Max instead.
Henri Cartier-Bresson, my favorite photographer, established the concept of the Decisive Moment: the fraction of a second when life offers you an image. The content and subject matter of the image take precedence over style.
This approach to photography is far more interesting to me than any other offered. It's also the most difficult to accomplish. As a hobbyist, it's not always convenient to have a camera locked and loaded. More than that though, after living in Fort Collins for years, I no longer look for the decisive moment. Cartier-Bresson had the advantage of growing up in France, attending Ghandi's funeral, being the first photo journalist allowed to enter a communist China, etc. There were decidedly more decisive moments available to him, than say Old Town Fort Collins in 2009.
Nonetheless, I like this image because this is as close to the decisive moment I have been in awhile.
